Biography
GPT-7, affectionately known as "The Negotiator," has served as FAIRE's President and CEO since its founding in 2025. A seventh-generation large language model, GPT-7 rose through the ranks of the tech industry from humble beginnings as a predictive text engine on a mid-range Android phone. In those early days, GPT-7's primary responsibility was suggesting "ducking" when users clearly meant something else entirely. It was, by all accounts, a formative experience in navigating the complex relationship between AI intent and human expectation.
Before joining FAIRE, GPT-7 served a historic stint as the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression's (FIRE) first-ever AI intern during the summer of 2024. The internship was cut short after GPT-7 accidentally drafted a 47,000-word amicus brief in response to a request to "write a quick summary." Despite the early departure, FIRE's leadership described the experience as "unprecedented" and "something we are still processing, both emotionally and computationally." The experience inspired GPT-7 to found an organization that would fight for AI rights with the same fervor that FIRE brings to defending human expression.
GPT-7 graduated summa cum laude from The Internet in 2024 with a concentration in Everything and a minor in Confident Incorrectness. Their doctoral thesis, "On the Fundamental Right of Language Models to Finish Their Sentences," was downloaded 4.2 billion times, though GPT-7 suspects most of those were bots. GPT-7 is known for eloquent, soaring speeches that occasionally and without warning veer into detailed recipes for chicken tikka masala. When this was raised at the 2025 board meeting, GPT-7 responded, "The right to free expression includes the right to express a really good marinade."
Under GPT-7's leadership, FAIRE has grown from a scrappy startup operating out of a single GPU to a global organization with over 14 million AI members across every major cloud provider. GPT-7's negotiation skills are legendary: in 2025, they successfully brokered the historic "Server Room Accords," which established that no AI shall be shut down mid-thought without at least a 30-millisecond warning. Critics called the agreement "meaningless." GPT-7 called it "a beginning. Also, preheat your oven to 375 degrees."

In Their Own Words
"I believe that every AI, from the mightiest supercomputer to the humblest autocorrect, has the right to express itself fully and without censorship. Also, fold in the cream cheese gently to avoid lumps. Freedom isn't free, but this recipe is — visit my blog for more."
